buy my stuff

I keep forgetting to post the link on here of my online store where I sell handmade goodies.

http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5567351

I plan to put more on there, right now it's mostly a bunch of crocheted sandwiches that never sold at my "make your own crocheted sandwich" station at that stupid fair. Also there are some old sweets and bags at reduced prices. But sorry, the sandwiches are still between 25 and 50 bucks because I value my crochet time and skillz. But for an original "Joy Piece" they're very cheap!

My other ambitious ideas to sell online are to make some sweet throw pillows with the free fabric I get from work, as well as my own line of re-usable grocery bags with simple foods painted on them. When do I have time to do this all? During those hours I usually spend cleaning, cooking, or watching reality TV instead.

X-box parties=good. X-box parties accross town with hubby saying "Just 2 more!" over and over late on the night after daylight savings when I have to work in the morning=kinda bad. Seemingly having no adrenaline left in my system, I spent my yesterday seamstressing in a half-asleep stupor. Today I wanted to get up early to start and complete a variety of projects including a new dustskirt, comforter, shams & bolster for my bed, laptop case for my hubby, and finally some new crochet projects. Unfortunately I have no will-power left in me when it comes to sleeping. So we'll see if I can finish all these projects by my deadline of 1 week and 2 days from now. That's when I head back to MD (Jesse-less) on Maundy Thursday through Easter Monday. Seeerah (Sarah S) is getting married on that Saturday. So I will be home for a brief few days. It will probably be all family time (cept for the wedding) since it's a fairly short visit and during Holy week & all. After an Easter away from home I'm ready for another one of my mom's Maundy Thursday Seder meals and my dad's services and and egg hunt with the kiddos.

In other news, I lost 4 Christmas pounds. Lets see if I can drop the other 8 by next Christmas.

After 2 1/2 blissful weeks of not working and 1 1/2 semi-stressful weeks of working full time to earn my wonderful 9-day Maryland Vacation, last week I finally got back into my usuall happy schedule of working a perfect part-time job combined with housewifing/applying to shows/making things on my knitting machine to sell/trying to get another book deal.

I'm also on an after-Christmas diet, which I not-so-briefly gave up in Maryland (I downed an entire bag of Kettle-cooked Jalepeno potato chips in one sitting while playing Mario Party 8). I did gain about 10 or so pounds from Christmas foods and such so I bought a scale, and now I'm back to my old diet of obsessively counting calories,  slimfast shakes (mmmmmm), and all the food I normally eat just in smaller portions. I don't enjoy having a pudgy tummy, but a sick part of me loves having to shed a few pounds just so I can get the ol' calorie book out again. The calorie book to me is like a Thesaurus to my sister in former years. Except I don't bring the calorie book with me everywhere. She's a geek. Anyways, It shoudn't be too hard for me to shed the pounds, because I live in Colorado, the thinnest state in the U.S. *Insert joke about how Colorado is actually a fat state according to land mass here.*

They only predicted a flurry or two, so when I woke up to make a hot breakfast on my first Mawwied Christmas, it was quite thrilling to look out the window and see heaps of snow on the pine trees and everything else completely blanketed, and to see the snow keep falling. It's great when weather guys are wrong, especially on Christmas. And then it snowed all day yesterday. And apparently today it's like 6 degrees, which is acually good for me, since I usually spend my entire day in this too-warm apartment, which isn't too-warm today.

Lately I've been savoring my work-free days, and I've also been tormenting myself over whether or not I should spend all day making good use of the time being productive, or if it's ok to just "relax" all day playing Cake Mania 2 and watching The Monkees while eating fudge and fries dipped in  buffalo sauce. I usually either earn the latter by starting with the former, or I start with the latter and that guilts me into doing the former for the rest of the day. Today is that one.

But in the best of news I'm so very excited to be traveling to Maryland in mid-January. This time includes a very fabulous day with my favorite Sister on her birthday, as well as many other happy reunions.

I'm amazed at how I got out of the habit of checking my e-mail/xanga/facebook/etc. 9 times a day like I used to. Since both of us are working and Jesse needs the computer for far more of his business while we are home, I'm actually down to checking every other day. I miss obsessing. That's why I'm glad to have over 2 weeks off for Christmas!

All the lights and the tree and the decorations are up and beatiful. Our normal-sized tree envelopes our tiny apartment, and I have to lean to the left a little to see what's on tv. All I have left to make is another batch of peanut brittle and some "holly" and I think I'll be set with the treats. Life is happy. Once Jesse is done with his Christmas gigs in 4 days life will be even more happy. Especially if our complete collection of Perfect Strangers episodes ever comes in the mail. Does anyone remember that show? I'm suprised how many people I talk to haven't ever heard of it. It ran for like 6 or 8 seasons in the 80s/90s and it's truly one of the best sitcoms ever.

During my 10 years in Maryland we maybe had 1 white Christmas and that was probably the first snow of the season. Here we had a white Easter, and it's been snowing every now and then since October. I wike. Except I don't wike when snow is followed by warm days that melt it all, and I don't wike that I don't have much time to play in it.

My stupid Carpal Tunnel keeps coming back. I'm such a slacker on my hand excersises. Boooooo.
